A “thank you” never seems like enough when expressing gratitude to the dedication of everyone involved with the annual Queen of Heaven Carnival, and this year is no different. The Lord once again blessed us and in 2023 brought us a weekend of wonderful weather, family fun and enjoyment - none of which is possible without our hundreds of volunteers and our supportive community. To everyone who volunteered throughout the carnival, who donated, who brought their families to support our efforts and who prayed for our successes, THANK YOU.
To Father Greg and Father Ryan, thank you for your leadership and guidance. Your positive support and willingness to help in any way possible led us to another successful year. Thank you to the parish and school staff members that assisted us with every coordinating, promotional and logistical request we had.
Last, but very much not least, I would like to extend a huge, immeasurable thank you to our 2023 Carnival Committee. Every year, our Committee works throughout the year to ensure every aspect of the carnival is prepared and executed. This year, our Committee stepped up even more to support me as the Chairperson, as I am blessed to be pregnant with our second child! Being 34 weeks pregnant during the carnival presented some of its own challenges, but our Committee didn’t miss a beat and went above and beyond to ensure everything was covered. You are all selfless and your dedication to the Queen of Heaven Parish and our Community is inspiring.
As we close out the 2023 Queen of Heaven Carnival, this brief reflection also brings excitement of what is ahead! I encourage anyone interested in becoming more involved to please reach out and join our incredible team of volunteers, none of this is possible without all of you!

Dear Parishioners
God has blessed us once again with wonderful weather, tremendous crowds, enthusiasm, and revelry at our Carnival weekend. We are very grateful for the opportunity to reap the benefit of all the work that everyone put in throughout the year preparing for and executing our largest annual event. While all the numbers are not yet in, it looks like our gross receipts are just a little under last year’s numbers, which were the largest gross amounts recorded in the history of the Queen of Heaven Carnival. I want to thank again Emily Melski, this year’s General Chairperson, the Carnival Committee, and the hundreds of others who worked at the Carnival serving people directly or behind the scenes! As I begin to write this article on Monday afternoon, there are many very tired people who put in countless hours over the past few weeks, but a good number of them have been here since early this morning doing the clean-up and tying up many loose ends. This year it seems that we have the most volunteers ever for our clean up day, and they are doing a great job. I am impressed once again by the dedication and diligence of our Carnival Committee and the generosity of all of our volunteers. Thank you again for your hard work!

I would be remiss if I also did not thank all those who were praying for good weather and the success of the Carnival. Certainly, we can do nothing without God’s help, and we were blessed with great weather and a truly remarkable event. One item from the Carnival that has been carried into Church this week is our prayer intention box that was at our Parish booth in front of our Pavilion. People had the opportunity to place their prayer intentions on a small piece of paper during the Carnival with the idea that we would pray for them this week at Church. The prayer box is now in Church placed before the altar. Please remember these intentions during Mass and other prayer times in your life.
