Queen of Heaven Carnival

Dear Parishioners,
God has blessed Queen of Heaven Parish once again with wonderful weather, tremendous crowds, enthusiasm, and safety at our Carnival weekend, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to reap the benefit of all the work that everyone put in throughout the year preparing for and executing our largest annual event. While all the numbers are not yet in, it looks like our gross receipts are greater than last year's which was a little more than a half million dollars. Exact numbers are not totally in, and time will tell how much we actually will profit from it. Costs certainly continue to go up and bills need to be paid, but it all looks very promising. Most importantly, we had a safe event with very few incidents, and we are thankful to God for his generosity. I also want to thank again Jackie Boss, this year's general chairperson, the Carnival Committee, and the hundreds of others who worked at the Carnival serving people directly or behind the scenes! As I begin to write this article on Monday afternoon, there are many very tired people who put in countless hours over the past few weeks, but a good number of them have been here since early this morning doing the clean-up and tying up many loose ends. Amazingly, the majority of the cleanup is already complete. I am impressed once again by the dedication and diligence of our Carnival Committee and workers. Thank you again for your hard work!
